CommentsThe Piscataway Park boat dock, which was damaged during Hurricane Isabel in 2003, has been reconstructed to allow passenger boats to arrive to the park from the Potomac River. Floating docks with attached Kayak Dock launches have been added to both the boat dock and fishing pier for easier access to the river by kayak or canoe. Public access to and from the river–fishing, boating, and water activities–are free. The park is open from dawn to dusk, with gates closing at sunset. Fishermen are asked to sign in at the Visitor Center. You do need a fishing license. You can get a license through the Maryland Department of Natural Resources. Fishing licenses also are available throughout Maryland at sporting goods stores, bait and tackle shops, and other businesses associated with recreational fishing, hunting, or boating activities.
